Our Mission
The massive influx of data impacts everything from the news children see to the ads that target them. However, few resources exist to teach data literacy in an engaging, relatable way.
Alex's adventures will bring these abstract concepts to life. As he explores the "data world," children will gain an intuitive grasp of data's prevalence. They'll learn key lessons like how the trail of data we all leave online contributes to our digital profiles. Equipped with this knowledge, kids can navigate their data-filled world safely and wisely.
The earlier we teach data literacy, the better-prepared children will be to make smart choices online. This book is a fun, imaginative way to lay that foundation.
The Book
Alex and the Data Twin
is the first book of the series of books, that will create the first generation of data literate humans.
Alex is a little boy who lives a perfectly normal, regular life with his mother. He has hobbies, goes to school, loves his Teddy and always daydreams of living many adventures. Alex's dream comes true, when he meets his data twin "DT" as the data world is in trouble and DT needs Alex to help him save the day.
First of all, imagine Alex's shock, when he first encounters DT, who looks just like him, talks like him, moves like him but has a certain shiny glow and doesn't look exactly like him. Alex's adventures start when he is warped into the Data World and he learns about what his data twin is made of and what the data world is. Slowly, Alex finds out more about the data world and understands why it is so important, that he discovers this knowledge.
Together, Alex and DT go on many adventures where they encounter Data Pirates and Data Unicorns and visit magical places such as the Data Ocean and the Data Mesh. Soon Alex's friends will find out about the data world too and join Alex on his adventures, eventually meeting their data twins as well.
But first, they need to save their beloved Teddy from the grasp of the data pirates!
